Corrections: Struck Through, Never Erased
Updated
This page lists every correction and substantive revision made to an entry on Puzzles, Charts & Dilemmas, newest first. Each correction is also noted at the foot of the entry it changed, on the same date.
The rules
A wrong puzzle answer is never deleted. It stays on the page, struck through like this, and the corrected answer follows it, so the change and its reason stay visible.
No entry is rewritten quietly. When a correction or substantive revision is made, the revision date in that entry's “Cite this page” block moves to the date of the change.
A claim that was wrong is corrected everywhere it appears: the short answer, the summary on cards and in search results, tables, the downloadable CSV or JSON file and its companion file, and any other page on this site that repeats it.
Changes that do not alter what a page says, such as fixing a typo or a broken link, are not listed.
How each entry is written
Each entry is one item in the log below, with five parts in this order:
YYYY-MM-DD — What was wrong — What it says now — Why (source) — link to the page
The date is the day of the change. “What was wrong” quotes or summarizes the earlier wording. “Why” names the source that settled it.
